Dear Band Students and Parents,
We are very excited to announce that “The Pride” has received an invitation to march in the 94th Annual Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia on Thursday, November 28, 2013!
The televised 6abc Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day parade is the oldest Thanksgiving Day Parade in the country and a true American tradition. Every year the city streets of Philadelphia make way for massive floats and giant balloons, as well as high school choirs, dance groups, marching bands and other performance groups selected from the around the entire country.
The Pride has been chosen from a nationwide application process as one of only approximately 17 bands to march in this parade on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2013. In that regard, a tentative trip itinerary/cost analysis has been presented to be approved by the Etowah County Board of Education.
A more detailed itinerary, trip inclusions and cost analysis is being sent home with students and can also be viewed here:
More details will be forth coming in the next few weeks.
We hope all of you are as excited as we are and we look forward to providing an outstanding performance and travel opportunity for our students. They deserve it!
